Zpacks Triplex tent - is specifically designed to fit three average-sized people or two people with plenty of extra room for your gear. Ideal for a hiking couple, the Triplex is a lightweight tent that offers enough room for three average-sized hikers, two larger adults with a small dog, a child, or extra gear.
While you may not be able to pitch in tight places, the Triplex provides a spacious living area for you and your hiking companions. The Triplex’s floor measures 153 cm (60 inch) in wide, allowing for three 51 cm (20") pads, and a ton of space to spread out.
The tent is constructed from Dyneema Composite fabric and measures 122 cm (48 inches) tall at the peaks giving you plenty of headroom when sitting up inside the tent.
Sets up with two trekking poles adjusted to around 48" (122 cm). Slightly taller or shorter fixed length poles will also work. If you do not use trekking poles, Zpacks offer appropriate tent poles for Triplex here. Trekking poles are not included but we have multiple Trekking Poles to choose from.
Storm doors on both sides of the tent provide protection from inclement weather or great cross-ventilation and breathtaking views when left open.
Bathtub floor is also made from Dyneema Composite fabric but it’s twice as thick as the canopy material and is more resistant to abrasion and punctures. There’s a screen between the bathtub floor and the walls at the ends of the tarp.
Mesh pockets can be found at both ends of the tent and can be used to store small items like headlamps, glasses or phone. Understanding that the Triplex weighs less than most one-person tents makes it much easier to be your family’s pack mule.

The tent package includes: guylines, sewn in linelocs, taped seams, and a stuff sack. 8 to 12 Stakes are required but are not included.

Dyneema® Composite Fabric has several advantages over other materials:
- High strength to weight ratio – the material can handle high wind force and does not tear easily.
- Chemical free, PFC free
- Waterproof – there is no DWR or coating to worry about wearing out. The material will not absorb significant water that will add water weight to your pack
- Stretch-free – the tent will stay taut all night. Nylon material by comparison can stretch and sag, especially if it gets wet.
- Taped seams – our seams are sewn for strength then taped water tight. The tie outs have bonded reinforcements for high strength. No seam sealing will be necessary!
- Easily repairable – Any damage can easily be fixed in the field with our Dyneema® Composite Fabric Repair Tape.
- This tent is semi-transparent. In bright sunlight, a fuzzy silhouette of a person sitting inside the tent would be visible, but you cannot see any details. It has a suitable amount of privacy for changing clothes.
- In lower light (such as in the evening or at night), you cannot see through at all. Another nice thing about this material is that you can see the outlines of trees and your surroundings for a more immersed outdoor experience.
TOTAL WEIGHT: 606 g / 21.4 oz includes guy lines, sewn in linelocs and taped seams.
A piece of repair tape, two spare zipper sliders and big DCF stuff sack are included with each tent. Your choice of canopy material will change the total weight.
